December 3rd – Electric Light Parade – The first main event of the season is the Electric Light Parade which takes place on Main Street in Payson from 6pm until 8pm. This is a great family event where you can view all the lights on the floats, listen to holiday carolers, and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa. Get down to Main Street early so you can park your vehicle or bring some lawn chairs. Remember the jackets and a blanket because it’s gets cold after the sun goes down.
December 10th – Racin in Payson Rubber Duck Race – The Rim Country Chamber of Commerce is putting on this 1st annual event down at Green Valley Park from 2pm until 6pm. You can purchase ducks at the Rim Country Chamber to compete in the race. All money raised goes to local non-profits. Rumor has it Santa will be arriving via the Native Air Helicopter to visit with children during the event.

December 17th – Kid’s Horsey Christmas Party – On Saturday December 17th, Payson Riding Lessons will be hosting a free Kid’s Horsey Christmas Party from 10:30am until 12:30pm. There will be games, refreshments, horse rides and lots of fun!

Things to Do Payson AZ – March Community Events for Payson, Arizona

Can you believe it is March already? Payson, Arizona is having some beautiful weather for this time of year. It is definitely time to take advantage of it and get outside for some hiking, biking, or sight-seeing. A Taste of Rim Country Fundraiser – First, on March 12^th the Payson Public Library will be hosting “A Taste of Rim Country” Fundraiser. The event starts at 5pm and goes until 8pm. This is a great event to sample all the different flavors and treats from local area restaurants and businesses while helping to raise money for the library.

Gracie Lee Haught Softball Tournament – Then on March 17^th thru March 19^th, Payson will play host to many Arizona high school softball teams for the annual Gracie Lee Haught Softball Tournament. Games will be held at Rumsey Park.

TCCA Concert – On March 21^st from 5pm until 7pm there will be a TCCA concert called Ball in the House. This concert will be held at the Payson High School Auditorium.

Eggstravaganza – Finally, to finish out the month of March and to celebrate Easter, the Town of Payson will be holding their annual Eggstravaganza Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday March 26^th. This event will be at the Rumsey #2 Softball field from 9:30am until 11:30am. Make sure to bring all the kids for some great family fun.

Payson AZ Things to Do: Holiday Community Events in the Rim Country

The holiday season is upon us and the Rim Country is bustling with many community events including many things to do in Payson, Arizona.

Dec. 4^th – 6^th – The Rim Country Middle School will be hosting a X-mas House Bazaar Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. RCMS is located on Meadow Street in Payson just off of Longhorn Road.

Dec. 5^th – The Pine Strawberry Arts and Crafts Guild is having a Christmas Boutique from 10AM until 4PM in the craft room at the Pine Community Center just off highway 87 in Pine, Arizona. There will be homemade Christmas items and holiday gifts created by local artists and crafters.

Dec. 5^th – The kick off to the Christmas season in the Rim Country is the Payson Electric Light Parade which starts at 6PM Saturday night down Historic Main Street.

Dec. 4^th – 11^th – The Rim Country Regional Chamber of Commerce 2015 House Lighting Contest is in action. This is the 11^th Annual “Light the Rim” contest. Prizes will be awarded for 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd place along with a few participation prizes.

Dec. 12^th – 14 – The Choral Society will be holding their Christmas Concert on Saturday December 12^th at 4PM and Sunday December 13^th at 2PM at the Payson High School Auditorium. This Christmas concert can really put you in the Christmas spirit.

Dec. 18^th – New this year is the Polar Express Experience hosted by Chitwood’s Cabinets on Friday December 18^th from 6PM until 8:30PM. Chitwood’s Cabinets is located at 812 N. Beeline Highway. This is a pajama party with hot cocoa and popcorn for children 4 to 10 years of age to watch the Polar Express. To RSVP, call 928-474-3386 as space is limited.

Payson AZ Things to Do: November Community Events

Fall is really in the air now. November is here and the weather is definitely getting cooler. Many people are having fires to warm their homes and thinking of the holidays which are right around the corner. Many Payson community events are gearing up for the Holiday Season including some craft bazaars and the Turkey Trot 5k later this month. Below is a list of all the community events happening this November around the Payson area.

Nov. 7^th – 17^th Annual Community Health & Care Fair. This event will be held at Julia Randall Elementary School. This is an all-day event.

Nov. 8^th – The Young Irelanders will be performing at the Payson High School Auditorium from 2:30pm until 4:30pm. This is part of the TCCA Concert Series. The Young Irelanders is an eight member group which plays Irish music, song, and dance with authentic Celtic instruments.

Nov. 11^th – There is a Veteran’s Day Program being held at the Payson High School Auditorium from 2pm until 4pm.

Nov. 14^th – The High Country Bazaar will be held at the Julia Randall Elementary School Gym from 9am until 3pm. This is a great time to get a jump on your Christmas shopping. Bring the kids too because Santa will be there along with Mrs. Claus! Lunch will also be available along with bake sale items.

Nov. 21^st – The Turkey Trot 5k will be happening down at Green Valley Park. Check in and registration is at 8am. The race will begin at 9am. This is a great event to burn off some extra calories before you eat your Thanksgiving feast.

Nov. 21^st & 22^nd – Then the Payson Rimstones will be holding their annual Gem and Mineral Show. This year it will take place at the Payson High School Longhorn Gym instead of the casino.

Fall has come to the Rim Country. It’s October and the leaves have started to change in the Christopher Creek area as well as up on the Mogollon Rim. Now is a great time to take a weekend drive in the High Country and explorer. Hiking and Biking are still popular activities this month as the day time temperatures are cooler. Oct. 10^th-11^th: Annual Fall & Antique Festival – This event is held at the Pine Strawberry Community Center in the heart of Pine Arizona on Hwy 87. There will be a chili cook-off, food and craft vendors, a pumpkin patch, and an antique show in the Cultural Hall.

Oct. 16^th-18^th: ARToberFest – The Payson Art League will be holding it’s annual “ARToberFest” Fine Art & Fine Craft Show & Sale. This event will feature The Payson Jazz Trio as well as an art raffle which will benefit local school art programs. This year’s ARToberFest will also be held at the Mazatzel Casino Event Center.

Oct. 31^st: Town of Payson Trunk or Treat Festival – It’s that time of year when all the little ghosts and goblins come out. The town of Payson puts on this safe event on Historic Main St. next to the Oxbow Saloon. Enjoy Halloween night at this great festival.

September is a great time to get out and about. The temperatures are starting to cool off at night and the sun is less intense. Hiking, Biking, and Camping are all popular activities in the Rim Country. It is also a great time of the year to hit the ATV trails. Payson Farmer’s Market: The Farmer’s market will be going on thru Saturday Sept. 19^th. Remember you can find local vendors selling organic produce, milk, cheese, honey, and many more fine goods in the Sawmill complex parking lot behind Chili’s just off of Highway 87.

Labor Day Weekend: Head just north of Payson on the Beeline Highway about 20 minutes to the town of Pine, Arizona for their Labor Day Arts and Crafts Festival. Vendors from across the state will gather to sell their craft goods at the Community center located in the heart of Pine.

It’s Fair Time – Northern Gila County Fair: The second weekend of September, the 11^th thru the 13^th, the Northern Gila County Fair will be held out at the Payson Rodeo Grounds and Event Center. Come on out and enjoy all the animals as well as the arts and crafts. They also have a horse show, archery competition, and livestock auction. This is definitely an event for the entire family.

Octoberfest at That Brewery: Then on Sept. 26^th, That Brewery and Pub will be holding an Octoberfest at their location in Pine, Arizona from 3pm until 10pm. Enjoy great German beer along with homemade Schnitzel, Brats, and Bavarian pretzels. They will have many contests including stein holding, keg stacking, yodeling & hot dog eating. A silent auction will also be held to raise money for the library. Nothing like an Octoberfest to get you in the mood for Fall.
